Regina from the Apex location was amazing! I had movers coming in from NJ and a medical emergency with my husband going on at the same time. She was so kind and helpful at accommodating me to make sure my move went smooth. Thank you so much for your kindness and willingness to help. I reduced a star for the fact that you need to go through a AI calling system and a call center to get through to anyone at the location you are trying to reach.

Writing this review to warn others of abhorrent corporate practices experienced at this storage site. Renting units for years with no problems, including this site. But all of a sudden, last year, had major issues at TWO NC storage king usa sites. After a huge move last year, needed to rent multiple spaces (for car and items) and found my personal email account receiving tons of emails from storage sites, so I decided to create an email account dedicated to all things related to moving and storage, since I only received contract paperwork, notices that rent was coming due, payments had been received notices, and rent was going up notices, I would only sign into that account once a month if that, to reconcile charges against my card statement. Then one Saturday, my code would not open the gate. it was flashing green (to try again) and red (to see manager) I thought not again, what a massive inconvenience. Earlier in the year, 2025, I moved out of a second unit on the premises that I was renting and then started having issues with the access code on the remaining unit, I was then informed by the after-hours call center that for each unit you rent, a separate code is assigned. I was using the code for the vacated unit instead of the active unit. The site manager was informed, and the issue was resolved over the course of a few days. I just assumed it was a similar problem with the code (as rent for the month was paid) and I would just try again the next day, Sunday 2/22. Went back on Sun and the light was now flashing just red when code was entered. Now I am so angry because I had my work, computer and documents that I needed to prepare for work. The office is closed on Sunday, so I had to wait for the after hours call center to open to see if they could resolve the issue. I had talked to a live person just weeks ago to set up another unit rental. In just that short amount of time, the after hours had gone fully AI! Now I was LIVID! I could not access my belongings, the office was closed, (and would be closed again on Monday) and now could not even talk to a live person to get help. The AI rep kept asking me if I was Lawrence?? each time I called back! It took me almost an hour to figure out how to get a live person. When I finally did speak to a live person, I was shocked beyond belief to be told that you have been evicted for breach of contract, and you have until next Tuesday 3/3 to be out. WHAT?? I could not believe what I was hearing! I was also told that I could not get ANY of my work belongings until 9:30 AM on TUESDAY when the site reopened. I had never in my life, EVER had anyone hold anything that belonged to me hostage before. It is an indescribably out of control feeling. I was also told that an email was sent to inform me of what was done. Checked the account, two emails had been sent a few days apart, about a week prior to the lock out, THAT I NEVER SAW! Since no response to first email, second email was to vacate. NOT ONE CALL OR TEXT for something so serious! I now wanted out of this place ASAP, but I had to work, and the mover I use (the only one I can afford) is only available on the weekends and some evenings after work. Since I could only move when the manager was on duty, could not move after 4pm Tues-Sat or Sun or Mon when office closed. Mover not avail on Sat but could move my items on Sun 3/1. Restricting me to those days/ hours to move out was beyond cruel. When do people that work move items? Evenings and weekends! But it was when I went back to the unit for the first time, on Wed 2/25 after being locked out. Went to the unit, there was a white letter size paper taped to the unit door, basically the content of the emails sent to me with my FULL NAME at the top of the letter. I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO STUNNED IN MY LIFE at such an EVIL business practice. What was the purpose of doing such a thing? Because as of Sun 2/22, had read the emails and was moving. Asked manager why she would do such a thing and was told corporate made me do it. I thought wow, what a terrible company to have to work for.
